Le Café Royale celebrates the Royal Day

Friday April 29th saw Le Café Royale´s "Café Music" festooned with everything British to celebrate the anticipated Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate. Managers David and Tom had organised a full day of entertainment and delicious food to keep the packed cafe in a party mood

The day started at 2pm (8am UK time) with the large screen showing the guests arriving at the Abbey. As you would expect, all eyes were on what they and "who" they were wearing. Canopes and bubbly were passed around to the audience as we spotted the "A list" enter. Slightly dissapointing to be honest but as always, Mr. Beckham looked edible!!

Boyztown was certainly not going to be outdone by the Queens on the screen as our very own Madame Jim entered the room, looking fabulous!! Maybe he should have been on hand to give Princess Beatrice some guidance, her popularity would have soared....

The audience had no time to be bored however. They had games to play!! A Royal Quiz, pin the tail on the Archbishop, what colour will the Queens dress be and pass the parcel to name but a few! My chosen colour was post-office red for the Queens dress, so I gave up on the chance to win that one pretty early on.....

In what seemed like no time at all it was time for the wedding itself. With cheers from the audience as we saw Kate for the first time, the Queen enter the Abbey and of course, the two kisses on the balcony. With approx 2 billion people watching the ceremony worldwide it was amazing how this young couple, especially Kate, kept their cool and looked soooo relaxed and happy.

After numerous different canopes it was time for the Royal Buffet. The food on offer reflected the day of celebrating everything British with Prawn Cocktail, Cottage Pie, Steak and Ale Pie and Bangers n Mash. As always, this is what Le Cafe Royale do superbly, the food was hot, plentiful and delicious (especially the Steak and Ale Pie!!) To finish things off... a slice of Wedding Cake!!

As well as celebrating the big day in true British fashion with flags, balloons and singing along to the Last Night of the Proms, there was a small raffle to help raise funds for local charity Thais 4 Life in aid of the Jing Jai Orphanage. Including monies raised from the raffle and various personal donations, an amazing 150,000 baht was raised on the day....marvellous achievement!

This story would not be complete without a picture of the happy couple about to spend the rest of their lives together.......oh sorry, wrong picture, here they are!!

My personal thanks to David and Tom for a great day at Le Cafe Royale and all at PattayaHotmale wish you a long and successful life together.
